When you visit Israel and especially Jerusalem as a tourist it's really a no-brainer that you would also want to visit Palestine! Tours are abundantly available and there's so much to see there that I think you'd really miss out by skipping Palestine. Almost all the other travelers I met had been there and they all loved it! Whether it's biblical places you're interested in or you just want to see the infamous separation wall with all its art (Banksy, anyone?), visiting Palestine will show you a different side of this country which you won't necessarily hear about in the news.
So without further ado, here's how I experienced the cities of Palestine!
I visited Palestine on the Best of the West Bank tour I had booked through Abraham Hostels. Our tour guide was Tamer who came from this area and we had a fantastic time with him! He explained everything from the current political situation to Islamic traditions to us, bought and shared local fruit & sweets with us and helped us experience the friendliness and hospitality of the people here. And while he tried to share as much knowledge with us as possible, he was also one of the most hilarious guides I've ever had the pleasure to travel with! In a fun & entertaining way he managed to show us what every day life is like in Palestine. And while there is always some political tension in the air here, he answered all our questions in a graceful rather than resentful manner. I actually learnt a lot about a country I barely knew anything about before I went on this trip! Oh, and how often do you get to say you've chilled in a coffee shop in Ramallah?! ;)
