Yep, you guessed it: another ah-may-zing cobble-stoned old town (and probably one of my favorite ones in Europe) can be found in Estonia’s capital city of Tallinn!
Estonia is the most northern out of the three Baltic countries and definitely feels more Scandinavian than Eastern European. It borders Russia to the East and you can reach Tallinn by ferry in just over 2 hours from Helsinki. Fun fact: Eesti, the national language, is closer related to Finnish than to any of the Slavic languages!
If you’re in Tallinn during summer (and are really brave) you can even go swimming in the Baltic Sea and there several beaches to choose from.
I could ramble on now about how insanely beautiful Tallinn is in winter but instead, I let the pictures speak for themselves...
...and that was the last part of my Baltic Diaries for now.
I hope you enjoyed this little trip through three of the most beautiful yet totally underrated destinations in Europe!
